To transfer .com and .net domain names from another provider, you first need to ensure the following requirements are met:
- If the domain name has WHOIS privacy or ID Protection enabled, this must be disabled before a domain transfer can be initiated
- The registrant contact email address is valid and emails can be received to the address
- The domain is "unlocked"
- You have the EPP or Transfer Authorisation code
- The domain name has NOT been newly registered in the past 60 days
You will need to make the required changes, and obtain the required information from the existing domain provider. Please note that for many domain names, changes made to the registrant information (in items 1 and 2 above) may restrict the domain name and prevent transfer for a period of 60 days).
Upon transfer 1 year will be added to the expiry date of the domain, however if you recently renewed your domain, wait 46 days before beginning the transfer. If you transfer a domain right after renewing, a year will not be added to its expiration date, but you will still be charged a transfer fee.
Domain transfers can take up to 5 days to complete.
To transfer a .co.uk or .uk domain names from another provider:
Enter the UK domain name you wish to transfer, and leave the "Authorisation Code" box empty.
Leave "Company ID number" blank if the legal type is not a UK company.
Once you've placed the order, you will need to go to the losing registrar and change the IPS TAG on the domain name to ENOM, this must be completed within one week. This will then complete the transfer and you will then be able to manage your domain in your account within 24 hours.
Upon transfer, if the domain has less than 90 days remaining 1 year will be added to the expiry date of the domain. If the domain has more than 90 days remaining no extension of the expiry date will be applied - this is a UK registrar restriction.
